What is a Simple-IRA?
The savings Incentive Match Plan for Employees (SIMPLE) was introduced by a provision of the Small Business Job Protection Act of 1996 as a unique way for small business to provide a retirement plan for employees. This plan is primarily employee funded with matching contibution requirements *. It provides a low cost alternative for employers who cannot sponsor a 401K plan, but still want to offer a retirement program.

Easy Administration - The employer has very few administrative duties. There are no discrimination tests or Form 5500 reporting requirements.

Low Cost - The SIMPLE-IRA has very few administrative and recordkeeping costs. In fact, there is only a $10 per participant fee, which is paid by the employee.

Defer up to $10,500 annually (and will be adjusted for inflation).

Stop deferrals at any time.

Receive matching contributions made by the employer *.

* Employer has the option to match 1% in 2 out of 5 years, or make a 2% contribution for all eligible employees.
